Israel Peace Partnership
West Boylston Middle/High School 6th grade students from West Boylston, Massachusetts and their science teacher, Mrs. Pearson, are involved in science exchanges, designed to enhance the learning of science while becoming acquainted with the cultures of other nations in an attempt to promote peace. This started with Japan - USA Partnerships for Peace and now has expanded to Israel - USA Partnerships for Peace.
Mrs. Pearson and Dr. Taha Massalha, professor of Physics at ..... met at the National Science Teacher's Association Convention in Atlanta, Georgia in April 2004. They agreed to collaborate on various science investigations with her 6th graders in USA and the middle school students of his student teachers in Israel. Dr. Massalha persuaded Mrs. Pearson to come to Israel for a visit along with her husband, Harry Pearson who is a high school English teacher at Southbridge High School, Southbridge, MA.
The Pearsons will visit Israel for a whirlwind tour and series of presentations from July 20 to August 3, 2004. The Pearsons will stay at the home of Dr. Massalha, who is an Arabic-Israeli. During the stay, the Pearsons will be introduced to many of Dr. Massalha's friends, including Jews, Muslims, Christians and Druze. If possible, journal postings (see link Journal 2004) will be entered at this site every couple of days during the visit. Questions and comments may be directed to pearsong@verizon.net
